Site Prospecting

We help you find your perfect wind farm site —

before anyone else does

Great wind sites need more than strong winds. They need smart grid access, easy construction routes, obtainable land, friendly neighbours, careful logistics and a light environmental touch. Traditional prospecting makes oversimplified trade-offs from poor-quality inputs, sinking development budgets into fundamentally unviable sites. We believe there is no better return on effort for a wind farm developer than investing in expertise when choosing the next site.

We have pioneered our own prospecting software – ensembling calibrated wind maps, profiling favourable terrain, mapping hundreds of constraints and wrapping everything into a powerful scoring engine. It lets us work flexibly and collaboratively with our clients to find sites that are a perfect strategic match.

Along the way we digitised over 200,000 operational wind turbines worldwide to understand exactly what makes a viable project – and we learnt a lot. Smart mapping adds huge value. But algorithms, no matter how smart, can’t solve everything. There are too many unknowns, unknowables and unquantifiables. Great prospecting requires powerful tools, run in combination with technical experts and development managers who can carefully balance critical trade-offs.

FLAWS EARLY

Our prospecting assessments catch the showstoppers — wind shadows, poor resource, unbuildable terrain — before you spend money on measurements, land agreements or permitting.

FOCUS YOUR
DEVELOPMENT BUDGET

Better sites become better projects. Ours reach financial close faster than competitor sites — because we’ve already stress-tested the fundamentals.

FIND SITES YOUR
COMPETITORS WON'T

We don’t use the industry-standard approaches, so we don’t converge on the same sites as everyone else. That means less competition for land and grid, and sites more suitable to modern renewables projects.

UNMATCHED DEPTH OF ANALYSIS

Ensembled, calibrated wind maps. Time-of-generation value weighting. Terrain suitability metrics. Hundreds of constraint types. Dozens of ranked sites. Every aspect of our prospecting studies is analysed in depth.
